Biography
Piotr Staszczuk was born on May 17, 1949 in Poland. He studied chemistry at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, graduated in 1972, received Ph.D in 1980 and Sc.D in 1987. He received the professor position at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in 1995 and the full professor title in 2001. In 1990-1992 he was the vice-Dean for education of the Faculty of Chemistry and in 1991-1992 he was the supervisor (protector) of the Department of Stereo- and Spectrochemistry. In 1989 he organized his research Thermal Analysis Group and he was the head of organized Department of Physicochemistry of Solid Surfaces in 1998-2006. He is the head of organized in 2010 of the Department (Cathedral) of Bionanomaterials, Institute of Biotechnology, the John Paul II Catholic University (KUL) of Lublin. In February 21, 2013 he was elected as director of Institute of Biotechnology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Natural Sciences of KUL.
